Harvard Book Club Sept Meeting

The September meeting of the Book Club will be an outdoors meeting on September 9 at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Garlan Braithwaite, 14048 Brookridge Drive, Dallas, 75240 (one block south of Spring Valley and one block east of Hillcrest in Northwood Hills).  We will discuss War Trash, by Ha Jin.  Winner of the PEN/Faulkner Award and a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize, War Trash takes the form of a memoir written by the fictional character Yu Yuan, who eventually becomes a soldier in the Chinese People's Volunteer Army and is sent to Korea to fight on the Communist side in the Korean War.  “Vivid in its historical detail, profound in its imaginative empathy, War Trash is Ha Jin’s most ambitious book to date.”  Please note that the Club generally meets on the second Wednesday of each month.

To RSVP for the September meeting, please contact Garlan Braithwaite at bti8484@sbcglobal.net.  For more information about the Book Club please contact Adrienne Dominguez at adrienne.dominguez@tklaw.com or Lee Loewenstein at leelo56@gmail.com.
