Carrie Fisher honored at Harvard

The force was with Carrie Fisher when the “Star Wars” actress accepted the Humanist Hub’s Outstanding Lifetime Achievement Award in Cultural Humanism at Harvard Monday night. The 59-year-old actress best known for playing Princess Leia (and also, perhaps, for being the daughter of singer Eddie Fisher and actress Debbie Reynolds), collected the award in front of a crowd of students and “Star Wars” fans at Memorial Church. Fisher was frank and often funny as she spoke about her battles with addiction, body image, and bipolar disorder. Previous winners of the award include Salman Rushdie, Seth MacFarlane, and Stephen Fry.
